As I looked at Facebook earlier this week I noticed many photos of kids and adults embarking on new journeys. Preschoolers I knew at an earlier church now off to first day at Middle School. My youth director at my previous church now going to her first day at Duke Divinity School. Some bittersweet pictures of moms who are suddenly empty-nest moms as their youngest head off to college.

Last Sunday at church during the same service we baptized a baby and honored a person on her 90th birthday.

And then just last Monday I received word of a young couple who had just become engaged to be married.

All this to say that wherever you are on your journey, you will find warm smiles and unconditional welcome at North Raleigh. We do our very best to live into one of the mottos of the United Methodist Church: Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.

Speaking of journeys, we have members who come from at least 40 different states and even some foreign countries; we have members as young as the baby just baptized and even older than the one we honored last Sunday.

In other words, there is a place for you here, to experience our hospitality, to share in our fellowship, and to worship together.

Yes, our journeys are all different and ever-changing. And in the midst of all the changes that our journeys bring, I invite you to share with us in the unchanging love, grace, welcome, and acceptance of Jesus Christ.
