At NRUMC, we have several worship services each Sunday morning. Each of these has its own character, so we especially encourage visitors to try several to discover which they like the best. Our pastors rotate services so that members hear a variety of messages.
- Traditional worship includes singing of hymns and use of congregational prayers and traditional creeds of the church.
- Our contemporary service, Souljourn, involves all of our senses in praise and adoration of God. Led by our clergy and worship music leaders, we are refreshed and strengthened for our journeys of faith and life in Jesus Christ.
- Children’s Church is for children ages 3-grade 2. We start each Sunday (except Communion Sundays) in the 11:15 service; after the Children’s Message, we move to the Music Room for an exciting and interactive worship time!
NRUMC also offers special services on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
If you’re looking for traditional worship, we have 3 great services, led by our clergy, the Chancel Choir, and other music ensembles.
The 8:30 and 11:15 a.m. services follow the same order of worship and last about an hour. The 10:00 service is shorter (it lasts 45 minutes) to accommodate children who might not be able to sit through a longer service. Our three pastors rotate through all of our services, so sometimes the message will be different at all three services.
Children are welcome to participate in worship! We have a children’s message during the 11:15 service, after which children are welcome to stay or to go to Children’s Church (Music Room). A nursery is provided for children up to age three.
Expect to be surrounded by a warm and caring congregation. Expect dynamic preaching from our ministers, and expect uplifting music from our outstanding Music Ministries. Expect to be blessed!
Souljourn Contemporary Service
9:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall (Campus Map)
If you’re looking for contemporary worship, we have Souljourn, led by our clergy and by the Exaltation band and other music ensembles.
Souljourn involves all of our senses in praise and adoration of God. Led by our clergy and worship music leaders, we are refreshed and strengthened for our journeys of faith and life in Jesus Christ. Each Sunday, we sing uplifting music, spend time in prayer, share the joys and concerns of our lives, and hear God’s word proclaimed to provide direction for our lives.
Expect to be surrounded by a warm and caring congregation. Expect dynamic preaching from our ministers and uplifting music from our outstanding Music Ministries. Expect to be blessed!
Children’s ChurchOffered at the 11:15 a.m. Traditional Worship Service. Children ages 3 – grade 2 leave the Sanctuary with a leader after the Children’s Message, and return to their parents during the final hymn. Children’s Church is not offered on Communion Sundays, normally the first Sunday of each month.
