NRUMC’s 50th Anniversary

This year, 2021, marks 50 years since North Raleigh UMC was established. Our church has grown from 98 members in 1971 to 1,694 in 2021. Throughout the year, various Charter Members will share our history and some of their fond memories with the congregation. This page will be frequently updated with more writings, along with greetings from former Senior Pastors.

Pastor Bob O’Keef served at North Raleigh from 2002-2007, and helped launch the campaign to build our current Sanctuary Building.

As part of celebrating our 50th anniversary, we have asked some past pastors to talk about their time at NRUMC. During Doug Jessee’s time at NRUMC, the membership grew past 1,100 and the education building was completed.
