Join us for an uplifting afternoon as the King James Boys, a gospel bluegrass band from the upstate of South Carolina, take the stage! With nearly 30 years of experience sharing the gospel through their music, the King James Boys are dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich tradition of bluegrass gospel. Their exciting and heartfelt performances appeal to both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
The band’s roots trace back to 1994 when they began singing and playing bluegrass gospel in their home church. Since then, they’ve traveled far beyond their local area, spreading joy and faith through their music. The group features Randy Spencer on guitar and lead vocals, Cole Spencer on bass guitar and harmony vocals, Curtis Lewis on banjo, and Will Hart on mandolin and harmony vocals.
The concert is totally accessible with free parking available on site. No RSVP is needed—just bring your family, friends, and your love for great music!

Music 101: How to Sing Music
Wednesdays in August
Music 101: How to Sing Music
August 13th, 20th, 27th • 6:00pm
NRUMC Music Suite, near the Sanctuary
8501 Honeycutt Road | North Raleigh
Do you love music but feel unsure about how to sing it confidently? Whether you're a lifelong music lover or just getting started, Music 101: How to Sing Music is for you! This three-week course is designed for adults who want to grow in their musical skills in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment.
The class is led by Andy Eaton, Director of Music Ministries at NRUMC. Andy holds postgraduate degrees from Baylor University in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting, and has taught singing from the elementary to the University level. He brings years of experience teaching voice and conducting choirs of all levels, from beginners to advanced ensembles, and has performed both locally and nationally as a Baritone vocalist. His teaching style is encouraging, accessible, and rooted in a deep love for helping others grow in their musical confidence.
Over the course of three Wednesdays, you’ll learn sight-singing strategies, explore solfege, and build healthy vocal technique. Each session includes both group instruction and individual coaching, all in a welcoming, no-pressure setting.
This is a space to strengthen your musical understanding, gain confidence in your voice, and connect with others who share your love of singing. No formal training is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
