Community Garden at North Raleigh UMC

NRUMC’s community garden is located across the street (overflow parking lot) from the
church. Lease a 5’ X 10’ raised bed ($25) or a full size 5’ X 20’ ($50) raised bed with the understanding that at least 50% of your harvest will go to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and other distribution agencies. Garden members participate twice a month in Wednesday/Saturday/Sunday group harvesting activities and perform an additional 4 hours of community workday labor during the year. What a great way to experience community and friendship with your fellow church members in the outdoors! Individuals, circles, and families are all welcome to participate in this ministry. Green thumbs are helpful, but not required! In addition to opportunities to lease a garden bed, extra hands are always welcomed to help pick and deliver produce on scheduled picking days as well as mow the lawn and edge the beds.
Each year, our garden volunteers donate about 5,000 lbs of fresh
vegetables and fruits to local individuals/families in need. Visitors to the garden are
always welcomed! For more information, email Julie Barnes. Space is limited.
