Generosity at NRUMC

At North Raleigh United Methodist Church, we believe generosity is more than something we do — it’s part of who we’re called to be. Each year, we enter a season of generosity where we dedicate every part of our lives — including our finances — to God’s holy use.

This year, our goal is simple but powerful: 300 commitments.

Each commitment card represents a household choosing to say, “Take my life, Lord, and let it be.” Together, those 300 commitments will tell a story of faith, trust, and shared purpose as we support all that God is doing through NRUMC.

You are invited to be part of that story.

Pray about how God is calling you to take a step of faith in the coming year. Then fill out your commitment card — online or in worship — as a way of consecrating your gifts to God’s work through our church family.

Be part of the 300.

Commitment Cards

As we seek to answer God’s call on our lives, how each of us answers will be different. Ultimately, Generosity is about being a blessing to others in Raleigh and around the world. How will you commit this year?

Faith Formation for All Ages

  • Nursery & Toddler Care: Spaces were refreshed with fresh paint, waxed floors, and new mats & toys, creating a welcoming, safe, and fun environment, and we added a Sunday school lesson time for toddlers.
  • Increased Childcare Staff: Four new staff joined our team, allowing us to offer childcare for special services and events beyond Sunday mornings.
  • Elementary Ministries: 12 Bibles were given to third graders, and 9 Bibles to two-year-olds. The Bridge, our 4th- and 5th-grade program, introduced a curriculum focused on learning about the Bible and how to use it.
  • Mission Leadership Cohort took their second mission trip allowing young adults to connect to each other and engage in formative service opportunities.
  • Fellowship for 50s/60s: Several new groups for this demographic were started including a Bible study and a hiking group.

Community Outreach

  • We welcomed families from the community at events like Trunk or Treat, Christmas Breakfast, and Easter Egg Hunt.

Family Faith Adventures — a brand-new ministry — offered three days of Bible stories, songs, crafts, science experiments, games, and meals for families to experience together.

Over 200 people gathered for the Easter Sunrise Service at Lafayette Village, with two first-time attendees joining NRUMC in the months to follow.

Being Generous with our Building: Our campus now hosts 5 scout troops (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts) and 10 recovery/support groups, reflecting our commitment to the North Raleigh community. We added the Raleigh Newcomers Group to our list of external groups that use our building, welcoming 80+ attendees monthly, several of whom have joined us for worship.

Youth and Discipleship

  • Our youth ministry invested 250+ hours in fellowship and discipleship.

Two youth represented NRUMC in the Conference Council of Youth Ministry.

Three youth alumni have returned as leaders — a sign of the lasting impact this ministry has had on our young people.

Missions and Service

  • 48 members served on mission trips.

NRUMC funded and built its 42nd house in Reynosa with Faith Ministry.

114 pounds of underwear were donated to Note in the Pocket to support school children in need.

We had six opportunities to gather for Mission & a Meal for intergenerational fellowship and service.

Rise Against Hunger packaged 14,000 meals for Ukraine

Music and Worship

  • A 15-piece orchestra performed at last year’s Christmas Cantata which drew over 800 attendees online & in-person

Chancel Choir has seen a 15% increase in membership.

Engaged 67 Summer Music Campers with worship, music, and creativity.

Music outreach included performing at Lafayette Village Tree Lighting Ceremony, our first Music Ministry Showcase, and hosting the American Guild of Organists Concert.

Care and Connection

  • Planning Center Services became a reality at NRUMC, a place to facilitate NRUMC engagement: mobile app, picture directory, giving platform, and central hub for worship, events, and community. This new check-in system ensures children are securely under NRUMC care.

Over 100 people gathered for Wednesday Night Dinners & Study to connect to God and each other.
