A Place for Every Child to Experience God's Love
North Raleigh UMC’s Summer Music & Arts Camp is a ministry of North Raleigh United Methodist Church, and we are proud to follow the United Methodist Church’s guidelines and Social Principles. We believe every person is wonderfully made in the image of God, and our camp is a space where kids can explore music, creativity, and art in an environment rooted in love, grace, and belonging. We celebrate diversity as a reflection of God’s beautiful creation and intentionally seek to be a safe space where all children and families are fully welcomed, wanted, and affirmed.
Our worship and teachings focus on God’s love, compassion, and the joy of community. While we come from a Christian perspective, our goal is not to enforce specific beliefs but to create a space where every camper feels safe, valued, and free to ask questions. There won’t be any Bible quizzes or written work—just short times of reflection, worship, or celebration. Some of our breakout sessions and music selections will include sacred and church music.
No matter where your family comes from or what you believe, your child will be welcomed here with open arms.
SAFE SANCTUARIES
God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children, youth, and other vulnerable persons from sexual and ritual abuse. God calls us to create communities of faith where children, youth, and adults grow safe and strong. (From the Book of Resolutions of The United Methodist Church. P. 384-386)
Thus, in covenant with all United Methodist congregations, North Raleigh United Methodist Church (NRUMC) has adopted a Safe Sanctuaries policy for the prevention of child abuse in our church.
This policy applies to all current and potential NRUMC employees, contracted workers and volunteers who will be working in church-sponsored events and ministries that are conducted under the auspices of and/or endorsed by NRUMC and that involve children and youth of this congregation and community. This policy must be followed at all times on church property but also applies to any church related activity on- or off-campus. This policy also applies on church property for groups within and outside NRUMC specific ministries.
