Vacation Bible School 2024

June 17-20 from 6-8pm

Ages 4 thru 5th Grade

Surrounded by water, trees, and rolling hills, Camp Firelight at North Raleigh UMC is the perfect location for every Camper’s favorite summer activities! During each assembly session, Campers join first-time camp counselor Sam and Lumen, the lightning bug puppet, and learn to face their fears while trusting in God. Each day, Campers see Counselor Sam face new challenges, from as simple as leading Campers on a hike to as intimidating as meeting a new and wise nature expert. Counselor Sam and our Campers explore timeless Bible stories that show how Old and New Testament Campers trusted God in the face of their own fears and went on to do great things in God’s name.

Through these stories, this program will teach us about people in the Bible who experienced the gift of a trusting relationship with God. In addition, it will teach us to trust that God will go with us, lead the way, share wisdom, to give us peace, and spark joy as we celebrate the good news of Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of others. We will also learn ways we can connect with and put our trust in God whenever we are afraid, challenged, or called to do God’s work in the world and share the Good News of God’s love through Jesus Christ.

As NRUMC has kids in both traditional and year-round school, we opt for an evening VBS.  We don't include dinner (the snacks are awesome, though!) so we invite families to eat before they arrive or to be a part of our family picnic area which is open at 5:15pm every night! It's a great way to get to meet other families also at VBS. 

Cost is $20 per kid with a $50 per household maximum.  Payment is part of the registration form.

To show our congregation all that they've learned, VBS kids are invited to sing in church on June 23 at 11:00 am - there will also be an awesome Ice Cream social after worship!

Vacation Bible School is the best week of the summer for children's ministry. And to make it happen, we need volunteers of all ages! 

Are you good with crafts?

Do you like to act or prepare sets for the stage?

Do you enjoy simple science experiments?

Do you have a few hours to help with moving chairs and tables?

Do you enjoy talking with kids and watching them shine when they learn about God?
